The above table indicates when DECS will withdraw support for the various versions of Web Browsers. Users may continue to use there versions of the Browser but support will be limited to issues that can be demonstrated to exist in the supported versions of the Browser. The table also reflects the dates provided by Microsoft for the removal of support of the various versions of their Internet Explorer Web browser with relation to different Microsoft Operating Systems. Please refer to the following URL (http://www.microsoft.com/lifecycle)for support status from Microsoft for Web Browsers. DECS will only provide support for the stated browser base on the continued support by Microsoft, at the point that Microsoft removes a browser from Main Stream support, DECS will also remove support at the same time.

Note: It is also possible to use Microsoft's Internet Explorer Version 5.0 if it includes the 128-bit encryption upgrade. Whilst the capability for 128-bit session encryption is an advantage a further enhancement is delivered in this download, which is a requirement: the ability to use client certificates with a key size larger than 512 bits. DECS will only accept client certificates at 1024 bits. These will not be presented in IE 5.0 without the upgrade. The supported Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for DECS is Version 3.0 using Encryption cipher Triple DES 168, which is fully supported by the versions of Microsoft's Internet Explorer as described above. (* Internet Explorer 5.5  - this version includes 128-bit encryption. If you already have Internet Explorer 5.5 installed, you do not need to upgrade your browser with the Internet Explorer High Encryption Pack. If you are running Windows 2000, installing Internet Explorer 5.5 will not change the current level of encryption on your computer, you will need to install the Windows 2000 High Encryption Pack.)
