Multipart Solutions has been supplying spares to the UK Ministry of Defence since 1919 and they have always been one of our biggest customers. The Government's Strategic Defence Review in 1997 began a long sequence of changes for the MoD, and we saw that we would need to change with them.

Multipart Defence was formed to focus Multipart's inventory management and logistics expertise on the evolving requirements of the MoD.  As the MoD progressively transforms itself into an "intelligent customer", we have similarly transformed our processes, capabilities and culture to ensure we remain the kind of "intelligent supplier" that they will always need.

Along the way we have scored some significant successes in the form of groundbreaking innovative support contracts such as CRISP, HASP, TRADERS, ADAPT, GSIPT and C Vehicles.  While Multipart is justifiably proud of our new Distribution Centre in Chorley, Multipart Defence is equally proud of our Distribution Centres inside the Defence Storage and Distribution Agency's site at Bicester and at St George’s Barracks, MoD North Luffenham. These facilities are "behind the wire" and adjacent to the military supply chain and our main customers, making them the ideal place to house all of the inventory in support of the Heavy Armour fleet including Challenger 2 main battle tank, the Rapier FSC missile systems, and the MoD's world-wide fleet of construction equipment, including £120m of MoD-owned legacy stock.

The imminent publication of the Government's Defence Industrial Strategy 2 (DIS 2) will mark the beginning of another sequence of changes for the MoD, and Multipart Defence will be changing alongside them.
