Integrated Logistics Support
Our defence pedigree and involvement with initiatives including LCIA, JAMES and FLIS allows us to understand the bigger defence logistics picture and the drivers behind developing and delivering cohesion across the entire logistics infrastructure. For over 20 years, LSC Group has been at the forefront of supporting military logistics, from the early days of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) to the needs of today’s defence enterprise to have timely access to accurate engineering and supply chain information at the touch of a button. Our services include logistic support analysis, risk management, reliability centred maintenance (RCM), configuration management and obsolescence management. LSC Group has worked in partnership with the UK Apache Attack Helicopter programme since 1996, providing integrated logistic support services that ensure operational flexibility and sustainability at minimum cost.
Through Life Capability Management
LSC Group has worked with MoD stakeholders and Defence Lines of Development (DLoD) in all areas of Through Life Management Planning (TLMP). This gives LSC Group the ability to look across air, land and sea environments to ensure that best practice is captured and embedded in its projects. The emerging concept of Through-Life Capability Management (TLCM) requires that all constituent elements of a capability represented by the DLoDs are managed coherently across the defence enterprise (MoD and Industry). Against this background, LSC Group is able to exploit our current capabilities of Collaborative Working Environments (CWE) where we have significant experience of electronic business management across a wide footprint across DE&S and industry.
Modelling and Simulation Services
Our highly trained modelling & simulation experts are experienced in cost and operational effectiveness modelling at all stages of the product life cycle. Our use of a wide range of tools and techniques, including both commercial and bespoke tools, are helping our customers to structure and exploit business information to improve the decision making process. Our innovative cost-capability trade-off model enables our customers to determine the financial and support implications of the changing of requirements in terms of equipment characteristics against desired availability levels. This has successfully provided insight for the Queen Elizabeth Class Aircraft Carrier programme and the Future Submarine programme, helping the MOD to understand the relationship between through-life cost and capability.
Information and Knowledge Management
Recognising the growing importance of the management of information and management in all business sectors, LSC Group has embarked on bringing the same flair and innovation to assisting organisations to release the knowledge capital locked into their legacy systems and the tacit knowledge held by their people. Project and Programme Risk Management Expertise
Our risk management consultants are experienced in delivering comprehensive risk and opportunity management solutions at the project, programme or portfolio level. We have experience of managing risk throughout the lifecycle of an operation or asset, from concept to disposal. Our risk management engagements range from short-term project audits and reviews, to undertaking multi-year risk management roles on £Bn programmes. As well as risk management consultancy, we are experts in the application of risk management software ensuring that you are able to identify, evaluate, manage and mitigate your risk more effectively using the most appropriate tool. We are delivering risk management services to the Future Successor Submarine programme, providing leadership on the management of cost and schedule risks and opportunities.
Technical Documentation Management and Production
LSC Group provides intelligent technical documentation services to a number of defence clients. Providing not only technical documentation management and authoring services, LSC Group can provide a holistic managed service for technical documentation that links to other areas of business such as Through Life Capability Managment (TLCM), Systems Engineering (SE), support engineering, Integrated Logistic Support (ILS), Supply Chain (SC) management, asset management and configuration management. Our technical authoring services are delivered by experienced technical documentation managers and technical authors adept in professional technical writing services and xml authoring. The majority of our authors are from a military background and cover all disciplines including mechanical, electrical and electronic. We have experience in delivering legacy data conversion including the conversion of 2.3 million pages of Royal Navy material from paper to Defence Standard 00-60 compliant SGML at an accuracy rate of 99.991%
Deployable Engineering and Asset Management Systems
LSC Group is delivering engineering and asset management (E&AM) solutions to its customers - achieving maximum value and availability from their assets in the most efficient and effective way. Our Engineering Asset Management consultants are specialist maintenance engineering and asset management professionals able to design and implement E&AM support packages tailored to your requirements. LSC Group has worked alongside The Royal Air Force (RAF) providing reliable asset management UK wide and around the globe. Our Ground Equipment Management System (GEMS) enables the RAF to track the history of all equipment including locations, modifications and maintenance events via a central database allowing global management of information and reporting, and is one of the few E&AM systems to be deployed into operational theatre.

LSC Group has been delivering technical through-life support solutions across a wide range of domains and industry sectors for over 20 years. Below are just a few examples of our solutions providing benefits to our customers today:
UK MOD: LSC Group has been an integral part of the MoD Attack Helicopter Project Team since 1996, providing project support and TLM expertise. This work has seen extensive WLC modelling in order to optimise and trade off the considerations associated with maintenance policy, initial provisioning and operations. As part of this work, LSC Group has helped identify major savings for the customer in an effort to reduce WLC.
UK MOD: Design, implementation and support of a Collaborative Working Environment (CWE) to approximately 3000 UK MoD and Industry users. As part of this implementation, processes associated with submarine upkeep were improved prior to their automation within the CWE workflow capability. Part of the capability offered includes reporting linked to automated process workflow to facilitate performance management and budgetary control.
UK MOD: Design, development, implementation, hosting and support of Commitment Monitoring Systems within the MoD Integrated Project Team (IPT) environment to allow tracking and management of financial expenditure.
UK MOD: Design and development of a number of Monte-Carlo simulation tools to assess the cost-effectiveness of through-life support solutions.
Defence Prime Contractor: Design and development of a support simulation model for a complex C4i communications programme. The model was used as part of the Contractor’s solution definition and acceptance process.
