Overview YORK International Corporation, founded in YORK, Pennsylvania, USA in 1874, is a leading manufacturer of cooling equipment for general industry worldwide with specialist divisions for marine and navy equipment. YORK Navy Systems is dedicated to the provision of HVAC&R systems for warships and their support vessels. Its equipment can be found on hundreds of ships around the world, including all NATO nuclear submarines and the majority of NATO conventional submarines and surface combatants. The primary divisions of YORK Navy Systems are located in Basildon 
England, YORK PA USA, Hamburg Germany, Nantes France, Bergen Norway, Aarhus Denmark and Singapore though all YORK International resources remain at our disposal. All sites have global design, manufacturing, installation, and through-life support capabilities. Products & Services As well as the design, build and test of key components such as chilled water plants and refrigeration stores plants, YORK engineers design the onboard HVAC systems with the latest state of the art design software tools, thus being able to fully guarantee compartment temperatures. As part of the shipyard co-ordination phase YORK can also fully integrate it’s systems into the 3D ship model to optimise space usage and equipment operating efficiency. 
All major components of the ship HVAC system e.g. cooling plants, air filtration units, air treatment units and ductwork systems can be engineered and manufactured on a flexible basis by YORK to provide trouble free equipment installation and system commissioning. Equipment is designed using components and sub-assemblies with referenced and predictable reliability data in order that the end product performs to user expectations. Once the ship is in service YORK is able to call on it’s unique 3,000 strong global service network to ensure that qualified service technicians (330 in the UK) are on hand to assist ships staff in problem solving and rectification work. The Fleet Support Team at YORK Navy Systems also play an active part in making sure that in service ships benefit from the latest technology upgrades as part of its through life support strategy.
