The Compstock Group, which includes Stewart Electronics, realised several years ago that electronic trading would be a key factor in reducing costs in the total transactional interface between customer and supplier, and would enhance the supply chain.

Having started trading via EDI in 1991, we later embraced the system requirements of SCOR (Streamlined Certification Of Receipts), developed by the MOD (Navy) in 1999, enabling us to create a paperless transactional order-through to-invoice computer-based system.

Working with Capgemini to transform SCOR to DECS will provide continuity in our ability to deal electronically with the Navy and allow us to expand these facilities to all sections of the MOD. This also confirms that the time taken to develop the existing in-house software has provided the template for ease of integration into the DECS system.

The Compstock Group is a distributor of electronic and electrical components and is part of UMECO Plc. The focus of the group is in providing value added distribution services to the aerospace and defence sector.
